“In Bloom“
Project Description:
In Bloom was a collaborative public art project between artist Melissa Martinez and Magnum Companies. Inspired by the beauty of cherry blossom trees, Martinez envisioned a sculptural interpretation that echoes the vibrant seasonal character of Arizona’s Palo Verde trees. From the earliest AI-generated concept renderings through final installation, Magnum provided comprehensive support throughout the project. Our team contributed design assistance, engineering, fabrication, powder coating, oxidation finishing, and on-site installation to bring the vision to life. Located at the intersection of Hardy Drive and 13th Street in Phoenix, In Bloom transformed the site by replacing a previous sculpture and extending the artistic theme into the surrounding streetscape. The project also included custom Palo Verde-inspired elements integrated into nearby bus stops, creating a cohesive and engaging public art experience for the community.
