Tempe Gateway
Project Description:
We fabricated and installed two decorative awnings for Tempe Gateway, using Knotwood aluminum rectangular tubing finished to replicate the appearance of natural wood. These awnings introduce a warm, architectural element to the exterior while also providing effective shading for key areas of the building. The material choice delivers a wood-like aesthetic with the durability and low maintenance of aluminum, making it well suited for long-term exterior performance in a high-exposure environment.
In addition, we built the framework for two custom lobby screens positioned to reduce harsh sunlight during sunrise and sunset. The screening system helps control glare as light moves through the space, improving comfort for occupants while still allowing natural daylight to filter into the lobby. The structure integrates cleanly into the surrounding architecture, maintaining an unobtrusive presence while serving an important functional role.
Together, these elements create a balanced approach to shading and visual enhancement. They reduce solar impact throughout the day, improve interior comfort, and contribute to a more refined overall experience at both the exterior entry points and within the lobby space.
