re currents – rawhide wash bridge
Project description:
A custom public art installation spans that the Rawhide Wash bridge in Scottsdale, bringing the presence of the rarely flowing waterway back into focus. Five rolled and twisted steel ribbons arch over the 14-foot pedestrian, equestrian, and bicycle path, each taking on a slightly different shape. Motorists experience the piece as a dynamic landmark, with the layered ribbons creating a moiré effect in passing, while pedestrians and cyclists move through a multi-dimensional space of shifting arches and shadows, enhancing their journey across the bridge.
